3-28-12 People Just Do Not Respect Soccer
Why is it that when ever you ask someone the definition of soccer its is, “kicking the ball around and running after it” or “ it is a boring ninety minutes that results in a zero, zero tie”? I mean I could say the same thing about football and baseball. Baseball is an even longer game that is just hitting and fielding the ball. I need to teach people more about soccer.Granted, soccer can be a boring game and baseball can be enjoyable, but mainly soccer is a fun, exciting sport that takes composer and skill. It isn't the number one sport in the world for anything. I need to teach people how to respect and play soccer in a respectful way.
Everyday at recess i go out into the field and see the same old silly business. I wouldn't be agrivated if they didn't say they were playing soccer. I understand that they want to have fun, but don't play with your hands and call it soccer. It is like they are playing rugby out there. Another thing that agrivates me is that we use one goal and have forty some people around the goal kicking, screaming, and (my pet peve) picking it up with your hand and throwing it into the net. I try to get people to play a game, but they think real soccer is to boring. So what I do next is go to the other goal and start shooting with some other people, but then so many people come back over there it is the same kind of game as we were playing before.
What I thought of doing is one day we can make a schedule for the month. We can call it the "Recess Soccer Schedule"! The "Recess Soccer Schedule" will consist of all the possible options that people want to do at recess. For example, one day we can have a real soccer game and the next we can play a free-for-all by throwing the ball in the back of the net with our hands. And if something else pops up with what people want to do we can add it to the schedule. It is not the best alternative, but people are coming up with better ideas.
I can understand if everybody, but me wants to have a free-for-all I can understand and go play another game like basketball. But I believe other people who play soccer fell the same way. Another alternate we can do is have everybody who wants to play a real soccer game can go to one goal and everybody else who wants to play a free-for-all can go to the other goal. The only problem in that solution is if someone wants to play a free-for-all, but his/her friend is playing a real soccer game we would not know what to do.
I need to teach people how to respect soccer and play it the right way and I think the "Recess Soccer Schedule" and the two different goals solution are just a start to a way we can solve our recess' not being frantic. I think the plans will help our recess to be a lot more fun and organized. I hope these solutions to our problem will work this year and in the future.
